About Andrew
Andrew Pavuk is the Executive Principal of Pavuk Legal, a firm he founded in 2007. With over 30 years of experience, Andrew’s practice encompasses a broad range of areas including financial services, corporate law, taxation, life insurance, superannuation, managed funds, estate planning, and succession law. Prior to establishing his own practice, he was a partner at Gadens Lawyers and Piper Alderman Lawyers. Andrew’s client base is diverse, spanning private individuals, small and large businesses, financial intermediaries, accountants, superannuation trustees, financial institutions, and not-for-profit organisations. He has considerable experience acting for financial product issuers such as life offices, fund managers, and superannuation funds, advising on product development, preparing disclosure documentation, restructuring legacy products, and managing dispute resolution with regulators, intermediaries, and clients. Among Andrew’s notable contributions are his roles in drafting the Life Insurance and Superannuation Acts for the government of Papua New Guinea on behalf of the World Bank; designing estate planning, small business, and business insurance advice frameworks for major firms including AMP and ING; and developing educational content for institutions such as Deakin University and the Securities Institute of Australia (now Kaplan). He has also provided advice and assistance in establishing and structuring numerous Australian Financial Services Licensees, including Fortnum Financial Group. Andrew’s experience extends to handling transactions involving the purchase, sale, restructuring, financing, and litigation of financial planning intermediaries. Andrew is particularly engaged with the Ukrainian community in Australia, having acted for the Plast KPS Executive, the Ukrainian Catholic Church including its Eparchy and various parishes and charitable funds, as well as representing the government of Ukraine, the National Olympic team of Ukraine, and Ukrainian diplomatic missions in Canberra and Sydney. Additionally, Andrew has been instrumental in founding and restructuring training institutions such as the Centre of Financial Planning, World School Ltd (later Tribeca Ltd), and KvB College. He has also provided ongoing legal, taxation, and technical support to various advisory groups, including MLC Advisers associated with the Payne Ruth training programme following Capita Life’s integration with MLC Life Limited.
