About Claire
Claire McKenzie is a Senior Associate at Paterson & Dowding, where she focuses on all aspects of family law, with particular emphasis on parenting and financial issues. She joined the firm in 2023, bringing extensive experience gained both internationally and locally. Claire completed her LLB (Honours) at Edinburgh Napier University in Scotland in 2006, followed by a Diploma in Legal Practice from Glasgow Graduate School of Law in 2007. She practised in private legal firms in Scotland for a decade, honing her skills across various family law matters. In 2018, Claire relocated to Mandurah, Western Australia, where she led a family law department at a well-established firm. Her practice includes a strong commitment to Collaborative Practice, and she is an active member of Collaborative Professionals WA. Claire is dedicated to assisting families in resolving their disputes outside the courtroom whenever possible. For cases that proceed to court, she draws on her significant advocacy experience from both her career in Scotland and her representation of clients in the Family Court of Western Australia. Claire values the variety and personal impact that family law offers and appreciates the opportunity to support clients from diverse cultural backgrounds since moving to Australia. Outside of work, she enjoys engaging with the local community, supporting her children's soccer activities, and taking walks along the beach with her dog.
