About Trevor
Trevor O’Sullivan brings over five decades of experience practising family law, beginning his career more than 50 years ago and becoming an Accredited Specialist in 1992. His commitment to family law is underpinned by his belief in the value of meaningful human interaction and his desire to assist clients through challenging personal circumstances. Trevor expanded his expertise in 1999 by completing professional mediation and arbitration qualifications. He is actively involved in the legal community as a member of the Australian Institute of Family Law Arbitrators and Mediators (AIFLAM) and the Resolution Institute, organisations that support alternative dispute resolution. His focus lies in facilitating outcomes that clients can accept, allowing them to move forward with their lives positively. Trevor values the courage and determination required to enact change and improve one's situation, and he finds this aspect of his work particularly rewarding. Beyond his direct client work, Trevor is dedicated to mentoring his team, fostering professional growth and maintaining the high standards that define the firm’s culture. His leadership extends to numerous roles within the legal profession, including serving as Chair of the Law Society of Western Australia’s Accreditation Committee and holding executive positions with the Family Law Practitioners Association of WA—where he was President and Secretary—and becoming a Life Member in recognition of his contributions. Trevor is a Fellow of the International Academy of Family Lawyers and was honoured as Family Lawyer of the Year in 2018. He has also contributed extensively to the profession through presenting lectures and authoring papers. Outside the legal sphere, Trevor has a long-standing involvement in sports, notably as Chair of the WAFL Tribunal and a Life Member of the WA Football League, reflecting his enduring commitment both to his community and personal interests.
