About Michelle
Michelle is the Director and Principal Solicitor at Osborne Legal, a firm she established in July 2015. With a legal career spanning over two decades, Michelle has developed a deep understanding of the needs and challenges faced by residents of Dubbo and its surrounding communities. Since beginning her practice in Dubbo in 2004, Michelle has built a strong reputation in family law. Her experience includes roles in private practice and at Legal Aid NSW, where she concentrated on family law and litigation. In 2018, Michelle attained Accreditation in Family Law from the NSW Law Society, a recognition that reflects her expertise and commitment to this area of law. She remains the only lawyer with this accreditation practising in Dubbo. Michelle regularly acts as an Independent Children’s Lawyer in contested parenting matters, advocating for the best interests of children involved in family law proceedings. In 2021, she completed Collaborative Practice training, becoming the first Family Law Collaborative Practitioner in Dubbo, enabling her to offer clients collaborative settlement options focused on constructive and client-centred resolutions. In addition to her family law practice, Michelle has substantial experience in criminal law and conveyancing, broadening the range of services she provides to her clients. Michelle was born and raised in Parkes and completed her secondary education at Parkes High School. She holds a double degree in Law and Asian Studies (Japanese) from the Australian National University in Canberra. Outside of work, Michelle enjoys spending time with her family and pursuing golf.
