About Dale
Dale Treanor LL.B is a Consultant Solicitor and Notary Public with extensive experience in commercial and property law. A graduate of Queensland Institute of Technology (now QUT) in 1982, Dale began his legal career in Cairns, establishing his own firm soon after admission as a solicitor in 1984. He later joined Williams Graham and Carmen in 1998, leading their local government and town planning division. After a five-year hiatus exploring creative pursuits—most notably writing and directing the successful musical Mr Pinstripe Suit—Dale returned to legal practice in 2012. He joined O’Reilly Stevens in June 2020, where he continues to provide expert legal services. Sworn in as a notary public in 1996, Dale maintains a thriving notarial practice and was recognised as a Fellow of the Society of Notaries, Queensland in 2023. His legal work encompasses a broad range of commercial and property development matters, with particular emphasis on construction law for both commercial and residential projects, property development including town planning and land subdivision, body corporate affairs such as management rights and serviced strata schemes, commercial conveyancing, leasing (including state tenure and native title), commercial litigation, franchising, and real estate agency issues. Outside of law, Dale is an avid AFL enthusiast and former player, passionate about carpentry and landscaping, and has a longstanding involvement in the performing arts community in Cairns. His diverse interests and extensive community engagement reflect his well-rounded approach to both life and the practice of law.
