Carol El-Zakhem

Carol is a solicitor in the Supreme Court of New South Wales and High Court of Australia. Carol commenced her legal journey in 2018 where she worked as a paralegal in private firms specialising in family law, criminal law and civil litigation while studying her Bachelor of Laws Degree at the University of Technology Sydney. Following her admission as a solicitor in 2022, Carol continued to work in the area of family law where she worked on complex parenting and property matters involving litigation as well as collaborative post-separation negotiations. Carol has gained strong experience in advocating for her clients and their needs in day-to-day solicitor negotiations, round table conferences and mediations. In the event your matter requires litigation, Carol’s experience extends to advocating for her clients in Divorce Hearings, Direction Hearings, Conciliation Conferences, Dispute Resolution Conferences, Judicial Settlement Conferences and Interim Hearings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia. While Carol enjoys advocating for clients, she has also refined her skills in drafting settlement documents to secure financial and parenting outcomes for our clients, through consent orders, child support agreements, parenting plans, deeds of release and financial agreements. Carol understands the importance of her role in helping clients navigate a new chapter of their lives and the direct impact of her role on her client’s financial futures as well as their family relationships. Carol is passionate about encouraging clients to remain child-focused and to achieve fair outcomes. As such, Carol’s super power is her empathetic and patient approach towards understanding her client’s said and unsaid needs and providing clients with transparent advice every step of the way. Outside of family law, Carol cherishes her time with family and friends. Playing the piano is also high on Carol’s list, which has always been her favourite instrument from childhood. On top of all of that, Carol is moderately fluent in speaking Arabic. Carol’s coffee order is an almond latte.
