Jonathan Nyst

Jonathan Nyst, a Gold Coast native and alumnus of The Southport School, is a distinguished legal practitioner with a diverse and robust legal background. He completed his Bachelor of Laws degree at Griffith University in 2014 and swiftly moved to make his mark in the legal field, being admitted as a solicitor to the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2015. Jonathan's legal practice is marked by extensive experience in criminal and commercial litigation across all levels of Queensland courts. His expertise also extends to criminal litigation in both the Local and District courts of New South Wales, as well as major consumer law litigation in the Federal Court of Australia. This breadth of experience underscores his adept handling of complex legal challenges across multiple jurisdictions. Further highlighting his versatile legal acumen, Jonathan frequently represents clients in tribunal hearings before significant bodies such as the Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC), Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), and Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission (ACIC) across Queensland, New South Wales, and Victoria. In recognition of his exceptional practice, Jonathan was nationally acknowledged by Lawyers Weekly in 2022 as Australia’s leading young criminal lawyer.
