Danie Mellas

Danie joined Nicholes Family Lawyers in September 2023, bringing several years of experience in family law with a focus on parenting issues and complex property and financial matters. She has worked on cases involving large asset pools, family and unit trusts, tax considerations including capital gains tax and Australian Taxation Office matters, company structures, and child relocation. Danie approaches each case by carefully analysing the parties’ overall financial position to secure the best possible outcome for her clients, recognising the critical role of full financial disclosure. Committed to managing costs effectively, Danie encourages clients to explore alternative dispute resolution options before progressing to litigation. She graduated from Victoria University in 2018 with a double degree in Arts (Psychology) and Laws and completed her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice the same year. Danie also volunteers at Fitzroy Legal Service, where she is dedicated to providing legal guidance and support to individuals who may not otherwise have access to such assistance. Outside of her professional life, Danie enjoys following the Richmond Tigers, and keeping active through gym workouts and pilates.
