Bec Dahl

Bec has devoted her legal career exclusively to Family Law, with a particular focus on supporting the LGBTIQA+ community. She provides comprehensive legal guidance for rainbow families, addressing complex issues such as donor agreements, parentage, assisted reproduction, in vitro fertilisation (IVF) and matters arising from relationship separation. Her extensive experience also includes handling marital and de facto property disputes, drafting Binding Financial Agreements both during relationships and post-separation, and assisting clients with Intervention Order proceedings in the Magistrates Court. As a trained Collaborative Practitioner, Bec values the opportunity to support clients through collaborative dispute resolution, offering a less adversarial alternative to litigation. Bec’s scope of advice and representation covers a wide range of family law matters, including divorce, same-sex relationships, children and parenting disputes, child support and spousal maintenance. She has also practised in the Children’s Court jurisdiction in both Victoria and South Australia, providing clients with informed guidance and support within these systems. Passionate about access to justice for the LGBTIQA+ community, Bec is recognised for her advocacy work. She is a regular presenter on JOY 94.9, Australia’s LGBTIQA+ community media organisation, and has received multiple nominations at the GLOBE Community Awards. Her expertise is sought after at national conferences addressing legal challenges affecting the LGBTIQA+ community. Bec joined Nicholes Family Lawyers in 2012, bringing with her over seven years of dedicated family law experience gained in both South Australia and Victoria, including work in a variety of firm sizes.
