As the Director of Neumann & Turnour Lawyers, Chris Mills leads the firm’s civil litigation and employment law departments with a focus on strategic and innovative problem-solving. His extensive experience in courts and tribunals across various Australian jurisdictions underscores his reputation as a tenacious advocate. Chris combines curiosity with a commitment to pursue new perspectives, offering clients tailored legal solutions in an ever-evolving legal landscape. Chris serves a diverse clientele, including charities, not-for-profits, and social enterprises, in areas such as company law, employment and workplace relations, insolvency, and property trusts. His interest in corporate governance is informed by his experience on boards and management committees, enabling him to resolve disputes effectively through an understanding of organisational dynamics. With qualifications from prestigious institutions, including a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Queensland and a Master of Business (by Research) from Queensland University of Technology, Chris is admitted as a Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. He is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a member of the Charity Law Association of Australia and New Zealand. Chris's career at Neumann & Turnour Lawyers spans over 16 years, during which he has held various roles, advancing from an employment and commercial litigation solicitor to an associate, and ultimately to the position of Director. His hands-on experience ranges across employment issues, civil and commercial litigation, dispute resolution procedures, and advocacy roles in mediations and settlement conferences. He is adept at conducting negotiations and has experience lobbying and making submissions to parliamentary committees. Additionally, Chris has a background in youth work, with a Certificate IV in Youthwork from the Metropolitan South Institute of TAFE, where he majored in Juvenile Justice. This experience has further enriched his ability to navigate complex human relationships within the legal framework.
