About Peter
Peter Wotton is a partner based in the Tuggerah office with over four decades of legal experience. He completed his secondary education at Newcastle Boys’ High selective school and went on to study Arts and Laws at Sydney University, residing at St Paul’s College during his studies. Peter began his career in 1978 as a solicitor under the founding partner Ron Nash and was made partner in 1984. Peter’s legal practice primarily focuses on family law, including property and parenting matters. He has extensive experience in representing clients in the Family Court and Federal Circuit Court across Newcastle, Sydney and Parramatta. His approach is characterised by a deep understanding of both the legal issues and the personal circumstances of his clients, enabling him to achieve practical and timely resolutions. He is skilled in negotiating settlements and advocating for the best outcomes in property and children’s matters, consistently maintaining a professional manner and commitment to sustainable results. Peter has built a strong, multi-generational client base within the Central Coast community. In addition to family law, Peter is experienced in the preparation of wills, appointment of enduring powers of attorney and enduring guardianship. He frequently meets clients in their homes to provide these essential services, especially for those who are elderly, ill or disabled. Peter also has significant expertise in the administration of deceased estates and handling contested wills and succession claims under the Succession Act. Peter has contributed to the community as a former Secretary of The Entrance Lions Club. Outside of his legal practice, he is a father to three adult sons and shares a passion for rugby with his family.
