Catherine Farres serves as the Principal Lawyer at N&C Legal Group, bringing extensive expertise in Family Law. Her practice encompasses everything from straightforward to intricate property settlements and children's arrangements. Catherine's experience spans the full scope of legal processes, from early negotiations to litigation. Her skills extend to personal safety, intervention orders, and estate planning, including wills and probate matters. Passionate about contributing to her community, she volunteers as a solicitor at the Moonee Valley Monday Night Legal Services. Catherine has further enhanced her capabilities with a completed Mediators course and a Practice Management Course and is currently pursuing a Masters of Law in Family Law at the College of Law. Her approach to law is characterised by innovation, empathy, and the ability to deliver practical and supportive solutions, helping clients navigate challenging periods with emotional intelligence and flexibility. Before her current role, Catherine served as a Senior Solicitor at Mirabellas Solicitors and as a Senior Associate at Romer Maud Family Lawyers, focusing exclusively on Family Law for private clients and Victoria Legal Aid matters. She adeptly manages cases from inception to conclusion, handling complex property, financial, and children matters, as well as financial agreements, divorce applications, and maintenance applications. Regularly appearing in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Catherine also takes pride in mentoring junior staff. Her dedication to the legal profession is supported by a comprehensive educational background, including a Bachelor of Laws from La Trobe University, PLT from Leo Cussen Centre for Law, and advanced studies in family law. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Government from Victoria University, along with an Associate Diploma in Business (Legal Practice).
