Jonathan Marquet

Jonathan Marquet is a Director and experienced solicitor with a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws (Honours) from the University of New South Wales. Since joining the firm in late 2012, Jonathan has developed a broad practice with a focus on property law and local government and planning matters. In property law, Jonathan advises on and handles commercial and retail leasing, subdivisions, easements, and conveyancing transactions. His local government and planning work includes advising councils, undertaking prosecutions, managing compulsory acquisitions, and representing clients in Land and Environment Court proceedings and appeals. He also acts for developers and landowners responding to compliance actions brought by local councils. Jonathan’s expertise extends to general litigation, wills and estates, commercial law, proceedings before the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal, and legal matters related to retirement village transactions. He is committed to providing a personable approach that balances legal considerations with the practical needs of his clients. Jonathan works effectively with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, large businesses, government organisations, as well as not-for-profit entities such as churches, charities, and schools. Having attended high school in Alstonville, Jonathan is well-acquainted with the Far North Coast region. Outside of work, he enjoys gardening and horticulture, tending to his backyard with care. He is also an amateur coffee roaster and barista. Jonathan lives in Wollongbar with his wife and young children.
