Shane McCarthy

Shane graduated from the University of Melbourne with a Bachelor of Laws in 1974 and was admitted to practice as a solicitor in 1975. He also holds a Graduate Diploma from the Australian Institute of Company Directors and is a Fellow of the Victorian Society of Notaries. In 1976, Shane founded the firm as a general practice and has maintained a continuous legal career since then. Throughout his extensive experience, he has managed matters across a diverse range of legal areas, including criminal law, litigation in the Magistrates’ Court, County Court, Supreme Court and VCAT, family law, commercial matters such as leasing and business transactions, residential and commercial conveyancing, as well as wills and estates. Currently, Shane focuses primarily on estate planning, which includes drafting wills, preparing powers of attorney, and handling probate work for deceased estates. His broad legal background provides a comprehensive understanding of the issues clients may face in these areas.
