Jim Marsden

Jim Marsden serves as the Senior Partner of Marsdens Law Group, a role he has held for more than 15 years. With over 40 years of experience in property and commercial law, Jim has significantly contributed to shaping the firm's direction, particularly in property development. He established both the Marsdens Property Group and Marsdens Commercial Group, continuing to actively engage in these areas as well as other facets of law within the firm. As the Chair of the Partnership Group, Jim is renowned for his practical and insightful guidance on property development and commercial agreements. His extensive involvement with the Urban Development Institute of Australia began in the early 1990s, further cementing his reputation for sound commercial advice. Jim is known for his problem-solving acumen, leveraging his vast experience to deliver satisfactory outcomes for clients, which include both large and small developers as well as state and local government bodies. Throughout his distinguished career, Jim has remained dedicated to the community. He is a family man and actively participates in various charitable, civic, and sporting organisations. His commitment to pro bono work was recognised when he received the Law Society President’s Award in 2011. In 2013, he was honoured with an OAM for his contributions, and in 2017, Western Sydney University awarded him an Honorary Fellowship. Furthermore, in 2018, Jim was named a Campbelltown Ambassador in recognition of his efforts supporting the Macarthur Community. Jim's career commenced in the property and commercial department, and he devoted 30 years as the Partner in charge of Conveyancing before assuming his current role.
