About Brooke
Brooke Houen holds a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and a Bachelor of Business (with Distinction) from Queensland University of Technology, with part of her studies completed at University College Dublin. She also attained her Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice at the College of Law. Brooke began her legal career with the Northern Territory Legal Aid Commission in Alice Springs before moving to Darwin to contribute to a complex criminal jury trial. She has experience working with the Domestic Violence Legal Service and the Aboriginal Legal Service of Western Australia in Kununurra. Brooke further developed her legal insight serving as Associate to The Honourable Justice Jenny Blokland in the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory. Currently practising at Maleys Barristers & Solicitors in Darwin, Brooke operates as a general practitioner with a focus on both criminal and civil law. She regularly appears before the Supreme Court of the Northern Territory, Darwin Local Court, Youth Justice Court, and the Northern Territory Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NTCAT). Brooke is prepared to travel throughout the Northern Territory and interstate to assist with a broad range of legal matters. Outside her legal career, Brooke is an enthusiastic polocrosse player and enjoys engaging with the unique experiences the Northern Territory offers.
