Malcolm Murray

Malcolm Murray (BEc LLB) has been practising law since his admission as a solicitor in New South Wales in July 1983. Early in his career, he gained a broad foundation in various legal areas while working at John Sarroff & Co Solicitors, a general practice firm. This diverse experience was further developed during his time at Collins & Stephens Solicitors, where he focused on debt collection and insolvency matters for clients of Traders Collections Services Pty Ltd. From September 1990 to May 1993, Malcolm practised as a barrister, concentrating on commercial litigation, which enhanced his expertise in resolving complex legal disputes. In May 1993, he established his own practice, MJ Murray & Associates (later Murrays Lawyers), which provided legal services primarily for clients of Credit Solutions Australia Pty Ltd, a debt collection company with which Malcolm had ownership interests. Under his leadership, the firm expanded operations across New South Wales, Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia, allowing him to develop a strong understanding of the practices and procedures of courts in multiple jurisdictions. Following the sale of Credit Solutions in 2000, Malcolm joined Aston Reid Lawyers as a director solicitor, where he continued to serve clients within the debt collection industry, notably those associated with Commercial Credit Services Pty Ltd. In 2014, he assumed control of Peter Winters & Co, renaming it Malcolm Murray & Associates, continuing to provide debt recovery services alongside a wider range of legal support. With over three decades of experience, Malcolm offers clients dedicated and practical legal advice delivered with a strong commitment to effectiveness and value.
