Stephen Maguire

Stephen Maguire LLB brings over 30 years of experience to Maguire Barnes Family Lawyers, a boutique practice dedicated to family law. Beginning his career in regional Queensland, Stephen became an equity partner by the age of 26 at Payne Butler & Lang, a firm with a history spanning more than a century. Over time, he developed a focus in family law from 1999 and, upon relocating to Brisbane in 2001, further established a substantial family law practice at Strathpine. In July 2014, Stephen transitioned to operating as a sole practitioner, continuing to provide tailored family law services. His expertise is supported by Michelle, his Law Clerk, who has over 15 years of experience in family law and is highly capable of assisting clients when Stephen is unavailable. Katherine, the practice's receptionist and Stephen's step-daughter, offers warm and engaging client support, complemented by her studies at the Australian Catholic University. The firm operates on a cloud-based system, enabling flexibility for staff to work remotely and maintain a strong work-life balance.
