Don Macpherson

Don Macpherson has established himself as a distinguished authority in family law throughout Brisbane and North Lakes, with over two decades of experience in the field. In 1996, Don became one of the pioneering lawyers in Queensland to be accredited as a Family Law Specialist. Demonstrating his commitment and proficiency, he achieved the unique distinction of being the first lawyer accredited in family law in both New South Wales and Queensland by 1999. Prior to founding Macpherson Family Law in 2017, Don was the Brisbane Managing Partner at a prominent Queensland law firm, where he led a team of ten family law professionals across three offices. This experience equipped him with extensive knowledge and leadership skills, which he now channels into his own practice. At Macpherson Family Law, Don is committed to addressing the specific needs of his clients, providing them with essential guidance and advice during some of their most trying times. Don's approach to family law is rooted in empathy and practicality. He perceives his role as not only providing expert legal advice but also offering common sense and leadership to help clients navigate difficult situations. He recognises that family law matters often coincide with some of the most challenging periods in a person's life. With over 30 years dedicated to practising family and divorce law, Don is renowned as one of Queensland's foremost family lawyers. His expertise is reflected in his longstanding accreditation as a Family Law Specialist since 1996. Outside of his legal career, Don is a devoted husband and father of two daughters. He has a keen interest in sports and remains a less active member of the Australian Lawyers Surfing Association. In his earlier years, he represented Queensland and Australia in Touch Football. Don and his wife, Lesa, are also actively involved in charitable work within the Brisbane Catholic Archdiocese, and he is a member of the Assembly of Catholic Professionals.
