David Mackie

David Mackie is a director with over 20 years of experience practising law. He oversees client management, business development, and the strategic growth of the firm, applying a practical and results-driven approach to his work. David is dedicated to achieving outcomes that meet clients’ needs with distinction. His legal expertise spans multiple areas including commercial and insurance litigation, dispute resolution, commercial advisory and corporate law, insolvency, debt recovery, leasing and retail disputes, construction disputes, planning and environment matters, and taxation and revenue law. He has worked across a wide range of industries, providing tailored advice and effective representation. David is also experienced in advocacy and mediation, regularly conducting conferences to resolve disputes. His skills extend to drafting complex commercial agreements such as shareholder and unit holder agreements, buy/sell arrangements, loan, licensing, partnership, joint venture, management, project, and development contracts. He has significant experience handling body corporate and shareholder disputes, delivering clear, strategic advice in complex situations. Known for his direct and succinct communication style, David aims to offer holistic advice that is tactically sound and grounded in industry realities, always coupled with a clear action plan for clients. Outside of his professional life, David is a committed father of six. He enjoys surfing, following the Boxing Day Test, and engaging with the outdoors. He also takes an active interest in his children’s various extra-curricular activities. David’s qualifications include admission to the Supreme Court of Queensland and the High Court of Australia. He holds a Bachelor of Business (Accountancy) and a Bachelor of Laws. He is a member of the Queensland Law Society, the Gold Coast Central Chamber of Commerce, and the QUT Law School Alumni.
