About Simon
Simon O’Toole has practised law in the Sutherland Shire since 2006, with extensive experience representing clients in criminal matters across various courts in NSW, including the Local, District, Supreme, and appellate courts, as well as the High Court of Australia. Starting his career as a court officer while completing his legal studies, Simon now acts as a solicitor-advocate, often handling cases without the need to brief a barrister. In 2011, his expertise was recognised through accreditation by the Law Society of NSW in criminal law, a status he maintains through ongoing professional development. Beyond criminal law, Simon advises on related areas such as traffic law, licence appeals, apprehended violence orders, firearms offences, mental health law, children’s offences, commercial and general litigation, wills, and probate. His experience spans a broad range of offences including assault, driving offences, drug-related crimes, fraud, and serious matters such as murder and sexual assault. Simon holds a Bachelor of Laws and Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Wollongong, a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of New England, and is a member of the Legal Aid NSW General Criminal Panel and the Law Society of NSW.
