Ronald Ma

Ronald Ma is the Principal Solicitor and Founder of Ma & Company Solicitors. Born in Hong Kong, Ronald migrated to Australia in 1984 at the age of 14. He completed his secondary education in Sydney before earning a Bachelor of Economics, majoring in Accounting and Economics, and a Bachelor of Laws from the University of Sydney. He was admitted as a solicitor in New South Wales in 1993, followed by admission in the United Kingdom in 1994 and Hong Kong in 1995, where he also maintains an active Australian solicitor practising certificate. In 1997, Ronald established Ma & Company Solicitors in Sydney’s Chinatown, with a vision to serve clients from culturally diverse backgrounds, particularly within the Chinese community. He is fluent in English, Cantonese and Mandarin, which enhances communication and understanding with clients from various regions in China and beyond. This cultural insight, combined with his strong legal knowledge, has been central to the firm’s success. Coming from a family with deep experience in both legal practice and property investment, management and development, Ronald has built extensive expertise in Commercial and Property Law over more than 30 years. His practice covers leasing and the sale and purchase of retail, commercial, residential and industrial properties. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation for delivering comprehensive and high-quality legal advice and representation to clients across Australia and internationally. Ronald’s practice is not limited to New South Wales; he has significant experience working in Victoria, practising there extensively over a 15-year period. Notably, he represented 128 clients in a class action against a Victorian developer in the Supreme Court of Victoria, securing a highly favourable outcome.
