Dr Lindsay Taylor is a senior partner and principal with over 35 years of legal expertise in local government and administrative law. He holds a PhD in law and economics from Macquarie University, where he received a Dean’s Commendation, and completed his undergraduate studies at the University of New South Wales. Over his distinguished career, Dr Taylor has worked in significant roles within the NSW Department of Planning and Infrastructure and the NSW Parliamentary Counsel’s Office, before founding Lindsay Taylor Lawyers in 2004. Prior to that, he was a partner at a top-tier Australian law firm, leading their Sydney practice and directing the transnational planning, environment, and local government law practice. Dr Taylor is recognised for his strategic advisory services to public and major private sector organisations, particularly on matters of land use planning and development. His work encompasses major land releases and infrastructure projects across various regions in NSW and the ACT. He is renowned for his expertise in development contributions and planning agreements. Notably, he advises numerous councils on statutory functions, governance, land classification, and regulatory issues. His contributions to the field have earned him accolades from Doyles Guide and Best Lawyers in Australia. Admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of NSW in 1985 and the High Court of Australia in 1998, Dr Taylor's career reflects a profound commitment to the legal profession.
