Johanna Licuanan

Johanna Licuanan was admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1998. She established Licuanan Lawyers in 2003 after gaining experience at small to medium-sized law firms, where she practised in property law, commercial law and criminal law. Today, Johanna’s primary focus is on property law, commercial law and estate planning. She has extensive experience acting for both vendors and purchasers in the conveyance of residential, commercial and industrial properties. Her work covers a broad range of transactions, from straightforward residential sales to complex developments involving intricate contracts and planning considerations across New South Wales and Queensland. In commercial law, Johanna advises franchisors and franchisees, as well as parties involved in the sale and purchase of businesses including office spaces, cafés and restaurants. She also regularly acts for lessors and lessees in commercial, industrial and retail leasing matters. Additionally, Johanna assists with business structuring and incorporation. Johanna has prepared numerous estate planning documents, ranging from simple to more complex wills, powers of attorney and advance care directives relevant to New South Wales and Queensland. She also has experience managing probate applications and providing support to executors in the administration of deceased estates. Alongside her legal career, Johanna is a sessional academic lecturer in contracts law and company law at the Australian National Institute of Management and Commerce. She is also a dedicated martial artist with black belts in two disciplines and has been an Australian Tae Kwon Do champion. Johanna is passionate about fitness and regularly participates in charity running events both in Australia and internationally. She has completed marathons in Berlin and plans to run the New York marathon in 2025 to raise funds for Amnesty International Australia, supporting the fight against injustice and the defence of human rights globally.
