About Us

Lee and Partners brings a rich legacy of legal service dating back to its origins in 1959. The firm was initially shaped under the guidance of Lance Lee, a prominent figure in the Brighton community, whose local engagement fostered strong client relationships and contributed to the firm’s longstanding success. The firm’s early years also saw John Herbert Roder undertake advanced studies in Town Planning at the University of Adelaide, subsequently holding influential positions including chairman of the Planning Appeal Board and Tribunal from 1967 to 1994. This reflects the firm’s engagement with diverse areas of law and governance over the decades. In the 1970s and 1980s, the firm evolved through various partnerships, eventually leading to the establishment of Lee & Partners and Lynch Meyer as separate entities. Since 1991, Donald McRae Bentley has played a key role at Lee & Partners, initially as a solicitor before founding D.M. Bentley & Associates. He later rejoined as principal of Lee & Partners, incorporating his practice into the firm. Julie-Ann Simkin has been practicing since 1990, with a focus on family and testamentary law. Her experience encompasses complex property settlements, children’s matters, and negotiating Consent Orders and Binding Financial Agreements. She also advises on Wills, Powers of Attorney, Advanced Care Directives, and manages estate administration including Grants of Probate. Lee & Partners operates from two offices located in Brighton and Glen Osmond. The Brighton office is notably housed in the historic former Police Station building dating back to 1906, symbolising the firm’s deep-rooted presence in the community. The firm offers comprehensive legal assistance in family law, wills, and deceased estates, committed to delivering personalised and effective solutions for clients.
