About Alexandra
Alexandra King is a partner and collaborative family lawyer with over a decade of legal experience. She holds a Bachelor of Laws with Honours and a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Sydney, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice from the College of Law. Alexandra is a Certified Collaborative Professional and has completed additional training in Collaborative Practice, equipping her to skilfully negotiate and support families through separation. Alexandra began her career in a corporate and commercial law team focusing on mergers and acquisitions. She later expanded her practice to include family law, property law and conveyancing, leasing, wills, estate and probate law, as well as commercial law. This broad legal background gives her a deep understanding of the complex issues that often arise in family law matters, such as the involvement of family businesses in property division and the impact of separation on wills and succession planning. Her experience across these areas enables Alexandra to offer creative and comprehensive solutions to families, often beyond what traditional family law approaches provide. Having previously practised family law within a general legal framework, Alexandra was motivated to find a less adversarial, more human-centred approach to separation. This led her to become a committed practitioner of Collaborative Family Law, which aims to minimise conflict and avoid court involvement whenever possible. Alexandra is dedicated to raising awareness of Collaborative Family Law as a constructive way for families to navigate separation and move forward positively. She shares valuable insights through her YouTube channel and blog, helping those contemplating or experiencing the end of a relationship. As a mother who has personally experienced separation and divorce, Alexandra brings genuine empathy and understanding to her work. She combines her legal expertise with a strong interest in psychology to support clients in addressing the wider emotional and practical impacts of family breakdown, assisting them to rebuild their lives beyond separation. Alexandra is a member of the Law Society of NSW, the Australian Association of Collaborative Professionals, and Collaborative Professionals (NSW) Inc. She is admitted to practice before the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of NSW.
