Richard Klimek

Richard Klimek LLB, Accredited Family Law Specialist and Legal Practice Director, is the founding Director of the firm established in 2005. With a career dedicated exclusively to family law, Richard has been recognised by the Law Society of Western Australia as an Accredited Family Law Specialist. His expertise and dedication extend beyond courtroom advocacy; he has contributed significantly to the field through various esteemed roles including serving on the executive of the Family Law Practitioners’ Association of W.A., offering his insights as a guest lecturer at university law schools, being a long-standing board member of Western Australia's largest community legal centre, and providing critical submissions to the Law Reform Commission on family violence legislation. Richard’s extensive experience as a trial lawyer is evidenced by his role as barrister in over 250 trials. His legal acumen has been honed through handling complex financial and parenting matters in the Family Court of Western Australia and contentiously litigated Violence Restraining Order cases in various Magistrates Courts across the state. These cases often necessitate in-depth court proceedings extending over weeks, requiring detailed management of intricate expert evidence. Distinguishing his practice from many others, Richard serves as the firm’s in-house Counsel, providing clients with direct access to the barrister responsible for navigating their case from initiation through to resolution. This approach ensures a seamless transition and sustained personal involvement throughout the legal process. Beyond his legal practice, Richard actively engages in philanthropy, notably as an Ambassador of White Ribbon Australia. In his ambassadorial capacity, he co-founded a major annual event in Western Australia aimed at raising awareness and funds to combat family violence, underscoring his commitment to social responsibility and community engagement.
