Philippe Paquet

Philippe Paquet has been practising as a legal practitioner since 1999, focusing exclusively on litigation with a particular emphasis on compensation law. He commenced his career at a prominent national firm in Sydney, where, as a Senior Associate, he developed extensive experience handling compensation claims involving substantial damages. His expertise includes identifying liable parties beyond the obvious, such as Councils and Road Authorities, who may have contributed to the circumstances leading to injury or loss. Between 2006 and 2008, Philippe broadened his legal experience in the United Kingdom, working with the Treasury Solicitor and Lovells LLP. In these roles, he managed a diverse portfolio of government clients, including the Department for Transport (Highways Agency), Her Majesty’s Prison Service, the Department for Food & Rural Affairs, and the Department for Constitutional Affairs. This period provided him with further insight into complex claims, including those stemming from intricate multi-vehicle collisions involving significant property damage. Returning to Australia in 2008, Philippe rejoined the national firm, advising Third Party Insurance companies such as NRMA, QBE, Allianz, and Zurich, with a focus on compensation matters. In 2011, he transitioned from defendant to plaintiff litigation, bringing a unique perspective to his practice. Philippe’s extensive knowledge of compensation litigation spans motor vehicle accidents, medical law, Total and Permanent Disablement (TPD), and public liability claims. His background as a defendant litigator provides him with a comprehensive understanding of how insurance companies manage claims, an advantage that enables him to strategically advocate for his clients to secure the best possible outcomes.
