Julia Barber

Julia Barber is the Principal of the firm, bringing over 35 years of legal experience to her role. Born and educated in the United Kingdom, Julia completed her BA and LLB (Hons) degrees through Monash University in Victoria. She began her legal career in 1978 with a large firm in Victoria, where she gained a broad range of experience across multiple areas of law. Since 1997, Julia has practised in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Her professional journey includes extensive travel and work throughout outback and remote Australia, engaging with diverse communities, including both Indigenous and non-Indigenous people. This experience has enriched her understanding of the unique challenges faced in these regions. Julia is admitted to practise before the High Court, Supreme Court, District Court, Family Court, and Magistrates Court. She maintains active memberships with the Law Society of Western Australia and the Law Institute of Victoria. The firm benefits from her extensive network of consultants and barristers, including Queens Counsel and Senior Counsel, ensuring the delivery of timely and high-quality legal services.
