Dean Spanner

Dean has been an integral part of Kennedy Spanner Lawyers since joining as an Associate in 1997, quickly rising to become a Partner by 1999. His career is underscored by an unwavering commitment to service, consistently treating clients with the same care and respect as if they were members of his own family. This approach aligns seamlessly with the firm’s ethos of prioritising people over profit, where transparency in advice is a cornerstone. Entering the legal profession as a 17-year-old in the late 1980s, Dean brings over three decades of extensive legal experience. Throughout his expansive career, he has imparted wisdom and guidance to burgeoning solicitors, fostering the professional and personal development of many under his mentorship. In his nearly three decades practising as a litigation lawyer, Dean has been involved in a multitude of unique and complex court cases, with some advancing to the Court of Appeal. His expertise was recognised through his 24-year status as an Accredited Specialist, a distinguished recognition held by only a select number of Queensland lawyers. Dean also cherishes his time outside of the firm, devoted to his family alongside his wife, who has been his partner since their teenage years, and their four adult children.
