Wayne Howard

Wayne Howard brings over 36 years of experience as a general legal practitioner, with a focused emphasis on family law. Raised in Rockhampton and having spent his formative years on cattle properties in Central Queensland, Wayne has strong ties to the region and understands the unique needs of its community. He began his legal career after completing a Bachelor of Laws with Honours at Queensland University of Technology. Starting as a solicitor in 1988 with Kerry Connolly and Associates, Wayne entered into partnership with Kerry in 1991. Following Kerry’s retirement in 2015, Wayne has continued the practice independently, maintaining a reputation for dedicated, client-centred legal service. Initially working in a broad range of areas, including personal injury, criminal law, conveyancing and commercial matters, Wayne’s practice has evolved primarily towards family law. His work now extends to estate administration, estate planning and other general legal issues. Wayne is a longstanding member of the Queensland Law Society, the Family Law Practitioners’ Association of Queensland, and the Family Law Section of the Law Council of Australia. Wayne’s experience includes managing complex family law property settlements often involving substantial grazing properties and business interests in Central Queensland, as well as handling parenting disputes, including relocation matters both within Australia and internationally. He is also well-versed in child support disputes (domestic and involving US jurisdictions), divorces, spousal maintenance, and a wide range of financial and parenting matters. In addition to family law, Wayne advises on estate and administration matters for estates in Queensland, other Australian states, and abroad, as well as assisting with complex estate planning. Residing in Rockhampton with his wife, Wendy, Wayne remains closely connected to his community and values family, with three sons now settled across Australia.
