About James

James graduated from the University of New South Wales in 1986, earning a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce. He began his legal practice in Kogarah in 1992, establishing the foundation for his current firm. With a broad range of experience, James has handled matters across property law, including residential and commercial conveyancing, leasing, and mortgages. He has also been involved in various areas of litigation, such as criminal law, family law, probate and estates, commercial disputes, negligence claims, insolvency, and debt recovery. Throughout his career, James has represented a diverse client base, ranging from large institutions to individual clients. His clients have included churches, banks, community groups, veterans’ organisations, foreign governments, quasi-government bodies, medical practitioners, small businesses, and sporting clubs. James’s legal experience extends to all jurisdictions and courts at both the state and federal level. He has appeared in the High Court of Australia, Supreme Courts, District Court, and Local Court. He has also represented clients before specialised tribunals such as the Consumer, Trader and Tenancy Tribunal (CTTT), the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), and the Administrative Appeals Tribunal (AAT). Additionally, James has experience appearing before the Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC) and has represented clients during the Building Industry Royal Commission and the NSW Police Royal Commission. In addition to his legal practice, James serves as legal advisor to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia, the Greek Consulate General in New South Wales, and the Greek National Tourist Organisation. He is Deputy Chairman of St Basil’s Aged Care and a member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. James has also held leadership roles within various school, community, and sporting organisations, and served as Mayor of Kogarah Municipal Council in 1997 and 1998. James is fluent in Greek, which assists in providing tailored legal services to the Greek-speaking community.
