Micah Jenkins

Micah Jenkins is a highly experienced lawyer with over 24 years of practice in both the Hunter region and the United Kingdom. Admitted as a solicitor in 1999, he began his career training at a national law firm and has since held roles in private practice and in-house legal teams in the UK. Prior to founding Jenkins Legal and Advisory in 2014, Micah was a partner at a well-established Newcastle-based law firm. Throughout his career, Micah has developed extensive expertise in business law and commercial property law, drawing on his diverse experience to provide well-rounded legal advice. He has worked with clients across various sectors including mining services, hospitality, health practitioners, insolvency, not-for-profit organisations, and other small to medium enterprises in the Hunter region. Micah’s work often involves joint-venture structuring and resolving disputes connected to joint ventures, particularly for clients in the mining services and wine industries. He is recognised for his insight into the import and export of goods and frequently acts for foreign businesses investing in New South Wales. Additionally, Micah offers trusted advice on licensing, planning law, and development matters, especially for hospitality and construction industry clients. His expertise in corporate governance and local government engagement has been acknowledged through his appointment as an independent member of the City of Newcastle’s audit committee. Beyond his professional practice, Micah is actively involved in the community, having served as President of the Newcastle Business Club and contributed to various not-for-profit organisations. He has also supported the Newcastle Institute and held a directorship at Companion Credit Union. Micah holds bachelor degrees in Law and Science from the University of Newcastle and was appointed a Notary Public in 2012. He completed a Diploma of Management in 2011 and is a member of both the NSW Law Society and previously the Insolvency Practitioners Association of Australia.
