Steven Shneider

Steven Shneider is the Principal Solicitor with extensive experience in Local Government and Environmental Planning Law, prosecutions, criminal law, administrative law, and Apprehended Violence Order (AVO) proceedings. He holds a Bachelor of Arts, a Diploma of Law from the Legal Profession Admission Board, and a Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Steven’s career includes significant roles with the Australian Government Solicitor and the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions, providing him with a strong foundation in public sector legal work. He regularly represents local government clients, appearing both as a prosecutor and in defence of Council decision-making processes. Additionally, he acts as a prosecutor for Transport for NSW. In the Land and Environment Court, Steven appears before Commissioners handling class 1 and 2 planning and miscellaneous appeals, as well as before Judges in classes 4, 5, 6, and 7 of the Court’s jurisdiction. While he represents developers in some matters, he maintains a professional commitment never to act against local government clients. Beyond his focus on local government and planning law, Steven also provides criminal defence services and acts in AVO proceedings. He has been appointed to various Legal Aid panels and schemes, including the Domestic Violence panel and the Federal Circuit and Family Court Cross Examination of Parties Scheme.
