Neil Archer

Neil Archer brings a wealth of experience to his role as Partner at Horton Rhodes Lawyers, combining over three decades of legal practice with significant in-house corporate expertise. Admitted in 1986, Neil began his career at Phillips Fox in New Zealand before transitioning to the corporate sector in 1993 as an Executive Director at PDL Holdings Ltd, a publicly listed company. In 2000, he relocated to Sydney to serve as General Counsel for Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Australia Pty Limited, overseeing legal matters across Australia and New Zealand. Since joining Horton Rhodes Lawyers in 2003, Neil has developed a diverse practice that encompasses both commercial litigation and corporate/commercial transactions. His ability to navigate seamlessly between dispute resolution and transactional work is highly regarded. Neil is known for delivering clear, pragmatic advice tailored to meet the commercial objectives of his clients, with a particular focus on executive employment disputes, including restraint of trade injunctions, directors and officers insurance, and shareholder agreements. Neil holds a Bachelor of Laws from Victoria University of Wellington.
