Joanna Bandara has over a decade’s experience in advising clients on employment law, industrial relations and safety matters and prior to that worked overseas within the construction and energy sectors in roles with an occupational health and safety focus. Jo is uniquely positioned to understand the commercial realities of business and puts her practical skills to use when advising clients. Jo appreciates that it can be difficult for businesses to ensure that they are fully compliant with their legal obligations and Jo is frequently called upon to assist clients with award coverage advice, interpreting award or enterprise-agreement terms, assisting clients to undertake pay reviews and any subsequent enforcement actions. Clients appreciate the way that Jo can simplify complexity and deliver manageable solutions. Jo is also a skilled drafter and has a wealth of experience in drafting enterprise agreements and in guiding employers through all aspects of making and negotiating an enterprise agreement – including the approvals process. Jo is admitted to the Supreme Court of Victoria as well as the Federal and High Courts of Australia.
