Brett Wilkin

Brett is a dedicated family lawyer with over 12 years of experience, primarily in private practice. Born and raised in the Riverina and Far North Coast regions of New South Wales, Brett's background growing up on a family farm lends him a unique perspective and deep understanding of the challenges faced by rural communities. This insight allows Brett to adopt a practical and straightforward approach when advising clients on their legal matters, prioritising outcomes that serve their best interests. Brett has a comprehensive understanding of all facets of family law, with a keen interest in how family law intersects with succession planning. His broad expertise ensures that he is well-equipped to guide clients through even the most complex of family legal issues. In 2017, Brett attained accreditation as an Independent Children's Lawyer, a role in which he passionately advocates for the rights and interests of children within the Family Law jurisdiction. While Brett advocates for resolving disputes outside of court whenever possible, he possesses considerable advocacy experience at every level of both state and federal courts, ready to support his clients through litigation when necessary. In early 2023, Brett and his wife Kylie, along with their three children, embraced a tree change to the Great Southern Region. They are enthusiastic about contributing to and engaging with their new community. Brett was admitted to practice in February 2012, holding qualifications to practice in both the Supreme Court of NSW and the High Court of Australia, underscoring his commitment and capability to represent clients effectively across diverse jurisdictions.
