Jordan Palmer

Jordan Palmer is a Partner at Hey Family Law, having joined the firm in early 2020 as an Associate and advancing to Senior Associate in December 2021 before becoming Partner in July 2024. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting, as well as a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice. Jordan was admitted to practice in the Supreme Court of Queensland in 2016 and the High Court of Australia. Since commencing his legal career in 2016, Jordan has practised exclusively in family law. His work includes advising and representing clients across a broad spectrum of family law matters, with particular attention to complex parenting cases such as international relocation and the recovery of children taken interstate without consent or court approval. Jordan is also involved in domestic violence proceedings, representing both applicants and respondents in specialist courts across Queensland and other states. Jordan draws on his commerce background in accounting to manage intricate property settlements involving business valuations and taxation considerations. He is committed to maintaining consistent communication with clients, ensuring they are regularly updated and informed throughout their legal matters. In addition to his legal practice, Jordan contributes to the community as a board member of the Brinsmead Hill Family Foundation, which focuses on educational and mental health initiatives. He also volunteers as a legal practitioner with My Community Legal on the Gold Coast, where he was recognised as Volunteer Practitioner of the Year in 2024. Outside of his professional and community work, Jordan enjoys spending time at the beach with his partner, Sarah, and their dog, Marshall. He is actively involved in mentoring junior lawyers within the firm, supporting their development and growth in family law.
