Jerome Hey is a Director with extensive experience in Family Law, having practised exclusively in this area since his admission as a lawyer in 2007. He holds dual degrees in Law and Psychology and has been practising on the Gold Coast since graduation, maintaining strong local connections. Jerome’s legal career began in 2006, following the completion of his Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts (Psychology) at Griffith University. He has developed a deep understanding of family law issues through years of dedicated practice at boutique firms, becoming well-versed in a broad range of matters including property settlement, spousal maintenance, contested divorce, domestic violence, parenting, and child support. In 2013, Jerome achieved accreditation as a Specialist in Family Law recognised by the Queensland Law Society, reflecting his commitment to maintaining a high standard of professional expertise. He has also served as a partner in a prior firm for five years, further solidifying his leadership and experience in family law practice. Jerome is particularly skilled in handling complex property settlement cases involving intricate business and trust arrangements. He is passionate about parenting matters, prioritising outcomes that support the best interests of the child and fostering meaningful relationships with both parents. His approach often incorporates his qualifications as a nationally accredited mediator, which enables him to facilitate early and amicable resolutions where possible. Recognised for his professional standing, Jerome has been listed annually since 2020 in the Doyles Guide as a Recommended Family Lawyer on the Gold Coast. He is an active member of both the Law Council of Australia and the Family Law Practitioners Association. Outside of his legal practice, Jerome is a Collingwood AFL supporter and enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
