About Belinda
Belinda Henry is the principal of Henry Family Lawyers, bringing over two decades of dedicated experience in family law. Admitted to the Supreme Court of New South Wales and the High Court of Australia in 2002, Belinda has focused exclusively on family law since that time. After spending the first ten years of her career as a partner in a local firm, Belinda established her own practice in 2011. Raised in the Tweed region, she maintains a strong connection to the area and its community. Belinda’s interests extend beyond law into finance and community service. Since 2012, she has served as a director on the board of Southern Cross Credit Union, taking on leadership roles in the board risk committee as well as the audit and risk committees. She is also a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In recognition of her professional and community contributions, Belinda was honoured as Business Woman of the Year at the Tweed Coast International Women’s Day Awards in 2016. Her expertise has also been acknowledged in Doyle’s Guide 2020, where she was named a recommended family lawyer in the Gold Coast region. In her family law practice, Belinda understands the challenges faced by clients during separation. She adopts a compassionate and personalised approach, guiding clients through property and parenting matters to achieve the best possible outcomes. She regularly represents clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia and emphasises resolving disputes through mediation when appropriate. Belinda has comprehensive experience in property settlement matters, including high-value and complex asset pools, spousal maintenance, and child support. Her work spans simple divorces, child support agreements, and financial agreements, as well as negotiations, mediation, collaborative meetings, and court proceedings. She is proficient in handling family law matters involving married couples, de facto partners, and same-sex relationships. Complex assets she has managed include family trusts, superannuation schemes, family businesses, intricate company structures, and longstanding farming properties. As principal of her firm, Belinda is committed to delivering excellent client service and finds great satisfaction in her role. Outside of work, she enjoys cooking, entertaining family and friends, travelling to experience new cultures and cuisines, and spending quality time with her husband, son, and their dogs on the beaches of the Tweed Coast where she resides.
