About Evan
Evan Dowd is a Director and Solicitor with extensive experience spanning more than two decades. Raised in Leeton in the Riverina region of New South Wales, Evan followed a legal path influenced by his father, Michael Dowd, who served as both a lawyer and magistrate. A graduate of the University of Sydney, Evan was admitted to practise in the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 1999. His career has included significant experience with a prominent litigation firm in Sydney, followed by four years practising law in the United Kingdom. Since settling in Bathurst in 2004, Evan has developed a well-rounded legal practice with comprehensive expertise across property and conveyancing, criminal law, civil litigation, family law and wills and estates. Evan has a demonstrated commitment to the local legal community and beyond. He was President of the Central West Law Society from 2012 to 2014 and currently serves on the Board of Directors for Glenray Industries, a not-for-profit organisation in Bathurst dedicated to supporting people with disabilities through employment, lifestyle and learning services, as well as accommodation and respite. Known for his strong advocacy skills and his work on both prosecution and defence matters, Evan has completed the Evidence and Ethics Bar Examinations and has particular expertise in criminal law. He also actively contributes to the community by assisting local high school students with their legal studies and maintains a deep commitment to social justice. Outside of his professional life, Evan is married to Louisa and is a father to four children. He has a passion for his family, farming and sport, reflecting his strong ties to the Bathurst region.
