Abdulla is an accomplished lawyer and communications professional with over 15 years of experience in legal counsel, compliance, marketing, and communications. Having graduated from the University of New South Wales (UNSW), he has developed a robust career that expertly merges legal acumen with strategic communication skills. Abdulla has held pivotal roles, including Legal Counsel and Director of Fundraising and Communications at a leading international not-for-profit organisation. His career path has also been shaped through his work with various law firms and legal centres, where he acquired a diverse array of skills crucial for navigating complex legal and communicative landscapes. Motivated by his commitment to human rights and community leadership, Abdulla founded Headstart Legal to address the needs of Australia’s underserved Muslim community. His work with the Australian National Imams Council (ANIC) and the Office of the Grand Mufti of Australia provided foundational insights into the community's challenges, driving his vision to support community leaders and enterprises. Beyond his professional endeavours, Abdulla is a dedicated Board Member of the Muslim Legal Network, participates with the Charity Law Association of Australia and New Zealand (CLANZ), and the Institute of Community Directors (ICD), and serves on the boards of several Australian charities.
