About Deana
Deana Hanna was admitted as a Solicitor to the Supreme Court of New South Wales in 2004, following her completion of a Bachelor of Laws at the University of Technology, Sydney. She began her career working as a barristers’ clerk before moving into roles at both the Crown Solicitor’s Office and various government and private law firms in Sydney and Wollongong. Since 2009, Deana has been a key member of Hanna Lawyers and has built extensive experience across Family Law, Succession Law including Wills and Estates, Criminal Law, and Civil Litigation. Her current practice primarily focuses on Succession Law matters such as Family Provision claims, along with Family Law issues including Divorce, Binding Financial Agreements, and complex property and parenting disputes. In addition to her legal practice, Deana is a qualified trainer and assessor who has taught legal studies and business subjects at multiple educational institutions. She also contributes to the broader community as the Project Officer for the Illawarra and Southern Highlands Family Law Pathways Network, a government-funded program promoting collaboration and information sharing among family law service providers in the region to enhance service accessibility for families. Outside of her professional commitments, Deana balances a busy family life and enjoys cooking, though she modestly admits desserts are not her forte. She also maintains a keen, if somewhat lighthearted, interest in reality television.
