Jaswinder Sekhon

Jaswinder (Jas) Sekhon brings over 30 years of legal experience with a strong focus on international law and cross-border matters. Early in his career, Jas was seconded from Sydney to London at 27, where he developed considerable expertise in global tax planning for high-net-worth individuals and corporations. This international foundation informs his approach to delivering tailored legal solutions that address the unique circumstances of each client. Jas has a proven track record in litigation, particularly in medico-legal disputes, patent cases, and class actions, and is known for his skill in managing complex, high-stakes legal challenges. His experience also encompasses global tax planning, finance, commercialisation, trusts, estate planning, commercial litigation, and family law. In addition to his practice, Jas has contributed significantly to the legal field through authorship and editorial work on key publications, including Barrett’s Principles of Income Tax and various international texts on taxation and wealth management. He holds dual undergraduate law degrees from the University of New South Wales and a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney. Jas is admitted to practise in Australia, England and Wales, the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, and New Zealand, and has served as a Legal Consultant in the UAE. Highlights of his diverse career include involvement in structured finance and banking related to the commercialisation of internationally acclaimed films such as The Matrix and The Lord of the Rings, as well as Merck’s leading cervical cancer drug. He also played a foundational role in establishing the EU airline start-up Cobalt Air.
