Cassandra Pickering

Cassandra Pickering was admitted to practice law in 2019 after completing her degree at Southern Cross University in New South Wales. Before embarking on her legal career, Cassie held qualifications as a hairdresser and dental nurse, reflecting her diverse professional background. Born and raised in Eugenana, Tasmania, she attended Reece High School and St Brendan Shaw College. In 1999, she moved to Port Douglas, Queensland, where she worked extensively with Queensland Health in Cairns and Mossman. Her work included travelling with the Royal Flying Doctors Service to Indigenous communities in Cape York. Growing up on a farm in Tasmania, Cassie developed a strong connection to rural life and spent several years involved in the Queensland cattle industry, actively participating in saleyard processes and Brahman Stud sale committees. Driven by a long-standing interest in the law, Cassie pursued her studies as a mature aged student, balancing full-time university with raising two young children and managing farm responsibilities. Towards the end of her degree, she gained practical experience as a paralegal, focusing on Wills and Estates and Family Law matters. Upon returning to Tasmania in 2020, Cassie worked as a prosecutor for Safe at Home with Tasmania Police for three years, before briefly joining Women’s Legal Services Tasmania. These roles significantly enhanced her expertise, particularly in matters relating to Family Violence. Cassie now brings her broad experience and practical understanding of the law to Glynn Williams Legal as an experienced associate, well equipped to support the firm’s diverse practice areas and serve its clients effectively.
