Stephen Rugendyke

Stephen is a seasoned Family Law practitioner with over four decades of experience, offering an exceptional depth of expertise to clients navigating the complexities of family law. After graduating from the University of Sydney and being admitted in 1982, Stephen embarked on a legal career that firmly established his reputation within the legal fraternity of New South Wales. Over the course of 30 years as a solicitor, Stephen broadened his practice across Sydney suburbs, Armidale, Campbelltown, and beyond, developing a robust and well-regarded family law practice that addressed cases across Australia and internationally. In 2008, Stephen relocated to Newcastle, where he further honed his skills first with a national firm and then as a family law team leader at a prominent local firm. His transition to the NSW bar in 2013 marked a new chapter, as he quickly established a thriving practice at Newcastle Chambers, adeptly handling all facets of family law. His past experience as a solicitor-advocate was foundational, enabling him to conduct hearings independently across various courts, including the Local Court, Federal Magistrates Court, Family Court, and Full Court. Now a valued member of Gillard Family Lawyers, Stephen brings his extensive knowledge and strategic acumen to the firm, offering a significant advantage to clients.
