Jason Green

Jason is a Partner at GHL and leads the firm’s work in Litigation, Insolvency, and Taxation matters. He has extensive experience assisting clients with tax and debt disputes involving the Australian Taxation Office (ATO), commercial law and litigation, insolvency and bankruptcy advice and proceedings, commercial transactions, and coronial inquests. Jason’s career spans both the public sector, having worked within the ATO, and private practice. This background provides him with a comprehensive understanding of commercial litigation, insolvency issues, and ATO disputes. He is admitted to practice in the High Court of Australia and the Supreme Court of New South Wales, and regularly appears in the Supreme Court and Federal Courts. Additionally, Jason has significant experience representing clients before the Administrative Review Tribunal in taxation litigation and disputes concerning the Tax Practitioners Board. Taxation matters and ATO debt disputes can be complex and costly. Jason’s familiarity with the ATO’s operations, policies, and procedures allows him to manage these disputes efficiently and effectively. His extensive professional network enhances his ability to secure favourable and cost-effective outcomes for clients. Beyond commercial and taxation law, Jason has also represented clients in Coroner’s Court during coronial inquests. He understands the sensitivities involved in such proceedings and provides clear guidance to clients through what can be challenging and emotional experiences. Outside of his legal practice, Jason is a dedicated supporter of the Burraneer Dolphins, Waratahs, and Wallabies. He enjoys coaching his young sons in rugby and supports the Cronulla Sharks. An avid snowboarder, Jason still pursues the thrill of the sport, reminiscing about his ability to hit jumps from years past.
