About George
George Fox was admitted as a solicitor in Queensland in 1976, beginning his legal career at Feez Ruthning (now Allens), one of the state’s leading law firms. With over three decades of experience in private practice, George has developed a comprehensive understanding of legal issues impacting families and businesses. Throughout his career, George has been deeply involved in the legal profession beyond his practice. He served as a member of the Queensland Law Society’s disciplinary tribunal and is recognised as a senior counsellor of the Queensland Law Society. His contributions to law reform extend internationally, having served as a Law Reform Commissioner in Fiji. George is also a qualified mediator and arbitrator, maintaining an active role in these areas, and has shared his expertise through teaching and presenting on mediation and ethics at both Australian and international institutions. He currently holds positions as an adjunct Professor of Law at the University of Southern Queensland and Murdoch University. In addition to his legal work, George has contributed to various community and public administration roles. He has been a member of the Australian Tax Practitioners Board, chaired the University of Southern Queensland Council Governance Committee, and served as treasurer of the Royal Agricultural Society of Queensland. He dedicated 17 years to the board of Lifeline and was President of the Queensland Law Society in 1992/93. George’s practice focuses on supporting families and their businesses, providing advice on succession and estate planning, commercial and corporate services, and governance matters. His extensive experience equips him to guide clients through complex legal and business challenges with a practical and thoughtful approach.
