Andrew Dyda is the Managing Partner at Finlaysons, where he oversees the firm’s business objectives and strategic initiatives. He also leads the Resources Team and contributes actively to the Corporate and Energy Teams. Andrew’s clients predominantly come from the resources and energy sectors, including major Australian companies. He has also served as in-house counsel during a lengthy secondment with a prominent ASX-listed oil and gas producer, providing him with valuable industry perspective. His legal practice encompasses a broad range of complex transactional and advisory matters for ASX-listed, private and government entities both domestically and internationally. Andrew has significant experience in drafting, negotiating and advising on major commercial contracts, particularly related to procurement, supply arrangements, construction and development across industries focused on resources, energy and mining services. His work includes advising on acquisitions, disposals, mergers, corporate restructures, joint ventures and farm-in arrangements. Andrew provides guidance on major project implementation within the resources and energy sectors, covering project approvals and licensing, land tenure and access agreements, statutory compliance and regulatory matters. He is well-versed in Australia’s foreign investment laws, ASX Listing Rules, Corporations Act obligations, corporate governance frameworks, the personal property securities regime, and Australian financial services licensing requirements. Before transitioning to legal practice, Andrew worked as a forensic accountant at a chartered accounting firm. There, he gained experience in valuations, financial reconstructions and fraud investigations. This background equips him with a strong understanding of accounting and finance, which complements and strengthens his legal expertise.
