About Jodi
Mr Ferrier has practised law in Sydney for over 35 years, bringing broad experience across all jurisdictions in New South Wales, including appearances before the High Court of Australia. His legal practice is complemented by his certification as a mediator, and he frequently employs mediation as a case management approach to resolve disputes efficiently. With a personal connection to the aviation industry spanning more than three decades, Mr Ferrier is a qualified private pilot holding a multi-engine instrument rating. He has extensive practical knowledge from owning and trading various aircraft, primarily single-engine piston models. His legal work extends to cases in both Australia and the United States, where he is well-versed in the aviation laws governing both jurisdictions. Mr Ferrier also contributes to the field of aviation law through occasional lectures in Australia and overseas. Notably, he has been invited as a guest lecturer at the Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona, Florida, where he speaks on International Aviation Law. He is an active member of several professional organisations, including the Lawyer-Pilots Bar Association of the USA, where he has been a member for over 20 years. In Australia, he is part of the Aviation Law Association and holds the status of Liveryman with the Guild of Air Pilots at London’s Guildhall. His leadership experience includes serving as President of the Royal Aero Club of New South Wales and currently as Vice-President of AOPA Australia, the peak body representing aircraft owners and pilots in the country.
